Some recipes might not be fancy, but they take you back to a simpler time. Dad and I would make these together every few months when I was a kid. He can’t eat cocoa, or chocolate, but he made them with me because I loved them. I did, but I loved spending time together in the kitchen even more.
We didn’t use bags and rolling pins to crush up the cookies back then. We had this crazy old meat grinder thing that we used just for this recipe. It suctioned to the counter, and had a retro, hideous orange colour for the accents. It was aweful! But, it was so much fun to stand there when I was six and seven, and churn up all those cookies!
They taste so amazing, yet they are made with such simple ingredients. Sometimes all that really matters is that they are made with love..
