We love Shopkins, and so many of you have requested to see us make a Shopkins cake, so here it is! This video is part of the super fun collaboration, so please check out the playlist.
Materials –
• five 4″ x 5 1/4″ cake layers, cut to 1 1/4″ high
• 750g (1lb 10oz) Sweet buttercream (see link below)
• 1.4kg (2lb 13oz) Modelling chocolate (one batch – see recipe link below) – 900g (2lb ) Purple (2 parts Americolor Electric Purple and 3 parts Americolor Electric Pink)
– 250g (8.8oz) Blue (Americolor Electric Blue)
– 100g (3.5oz) Tan (4 parts Wilton Ivory, 1 part Americolor Chocolate Brown)
– 100g (3.5oz) Dark Pink (2 parts Wilton Rose, 1 part Americolor Electric Pink)
– 50g (1.7oz) Light Pink (2 parts Wilton Rose, 1 part Americolor Electric Pink)
– 50g (1.7oz) Green (2 parts Americolor Mint Green, 1 part Americolor Avocado)
– Small amounts of Black (Americolor Super Black), White (Americolor Whitener), Yellow (Americolor Lemon Yellow), Teal (Americolor Teal), Brown (Americolor Chocolate Brown)
• Large spatula
• Turntable (optional)
• 4″ x 5 1/4″ cake plate
• 12″ square cake board
• Metal/ Plastic scraper
• Small and large rolling pin
• Pizza cutter
• Exacto knife
• Tape measure or ruler
• Scribe tool or toothpick
• Multi ribbon cutter
• Parafilm
• 20 gauge floral wire
